Why your business should exhibit
If you are a business owner, you should consider exhibiting at The Home & Leisure Show at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro, MA, on October 23-24, 2010.
Having direct access to thousands of Mall visitors over the weekend before Halloween is very valuable. For most businesses, this is a great way to increase their visibility and meet with thousands of potential new customers and nearby residents. Unlike the traditional "home show," this event is free of charge and will "piggy back" regular Mall visitors with those looking for home improvement ideas and vendors. The Emerald Square Mall gets over 30,000 visitors per day on the average weekend!
And Halloween starts the pre-holiday rush which is retail's busiest time of the year. This is a great opportunity to make impressions with local shoppers and residents.
Traditional home shows are often held at convention centers with additional charges for parking, expensive concessions, and a high entrance fee. No wonder why consumer show attendance has fallen over the past two years by over 7% (TradeShowWeek.com). In this economy, why make it difficult for motivated consumers to reach willing businesses?
The Home & Leisure Show has free admission, free and ample parking, easy highway access, numerous dining options, and will not be greatly affected by weather. It is close enough and convenient enough for most visitors to return back over the weekend if they wish to revisit vendors.
Plus, you will also have exposure to thousands of people who are at the Mall to shop. This visibility can pay dividends down the road. If someone doesn't need your service immediately but you make a good impression, you might earn their business in the future.
Consumers have so many options these days when it comes to their purchases. By meeting with Show and Mall visitors, you have a chance to stand out from the crowd.
The Home & Leisure Show makes sense for home-improvement vendors because of its focus. But it also is a great opportunity for local businesses to get the kind of exposure that can make a real long-term difference. Remember, most shoppers at the mall are local residents who live within 10 or 15 miles. These are your future customers!
MARKETING THE SHOW
One key aspect of the Show is the marketing plan. We have several ideas we are working on now to make this Show successful.
First, we plan on having great promotion at the Mall itself. We will have signs at the main entrances promoting the Show a month in advance, and we will have one of the large "sky" signs hanging from the rafters. (These signs are quite visible to Mall shoppers). Since many shoppers visit the Mall once a month, this will encourage them to return during the weekend of the Show.
Second, we will provide some entertainment for families. Our last show had several successful activities like a local Children's Museum and free animal balloons. These were quite popular and we will do more of that type of activity at this Show. We will also position these activities throughout the Mall to move traffic around.
Third, we are looking to partner with local groups who can provide some entertaining or educational programming in their booths.
Fourth, we plan on partnering with other local media to help promote the Show, which may include local newspapers, radio, or cable TV. We will have two full-page ads in the local Homesteader (targeting new and recent homeowners) prior to the Show, as well as piggy-backing some of the local Mall advertising.
Fifth, we will have "greeters" at the major entrances to welcome people to the Mall during the Show and hand out Show Programs. This will increase the visibility and awareness and hopefully make it a bit easier to get shoppers' attention during the Show.
FOCUS ON THE EXHIBITORS
The Home & Leisure Show is focused on getting you business! That means promoting the website so that visitors can find you after the Show, and trying to collect their contact information so we can remind them about you. Most other shows are just focused on selling exhibitor booth space-and then their job is done. We will promote a raffle with all participating exhibitors and will allow these exhibitors to contact Show visitors who enter the raffle after the Show.
Every Exhibitor will be listed in The Homesteader's October issue which will be distributed at the Mall before and during the Show, as well as seen by thousands of new and recent homeowners in the area for weeks prior to the Show. And exhibitors who become a Show Sponsor will get a free 1/4 page ad in this issue! (Regular Homesteader advertisers get a free sponsorship!) We will produce a Show Program listing all the contact information for every exhibitor as well as a map of the show. This guide will be available at most Mall entrances and will be handed out by "greeters" in several locations. Plus all exhibitors will be listed on our website, http://www.HomeAndLeisureShow.com. Exhibitors' contact information will be available on the website before, during, and after the Show.
Best of all, the cost to exhibit is reasonable and affordable for the exposure you will get. We have three options for booth space that can fit any budget!
SMALL TABLETOP BOOTH: A 6' table booth is only $595, and includes two chairs and draping. If you need access to electricity, there are a limited number of booths that have this, for a small additional charge.
LARGE TABLETOP BOOTH: A 6' or 8' table booth is only $695, and includes two chairs and draping. If you need access to electricity, there are a limited number of booths that have this, for a small additional charge.
TRADITIONAL BOOTH: A space approx. 10' x 10' is only $895. No table, piping or drapes are provided, and you have to be very careful of heavy equipment or displays so the tile floors are not damaged. (Check with us if you have any questions about displays). Some 10x10 booths have electricity available for a small additional charge. These spaces are limited and we expect them to sell out, so reserve your space today!
SAVE NOW! If you purchase your space before August 1, 2010, you can save
$100 off the above rates!
United Chamber of Commerce members can save an additional 10%! A limited number of Sponsorships are also available to exhibitors. This gives your logo visibility on most marketing materials at the Show. Contact us for further details or see the order form online. Sponsorships are $600 for the Show but are free to regular Homesteader advertisers.
Besides exhibiting you might want to consider donating a raffle prize. We will feature the raffle on the website and at the Show. All vendors who donate a prize will get that extra exposure, plus will be invited to have us forward an email to everyone who enters the raffle at no extra charge after the Show.
Reserve your booth space now! The Show may sell out and the booths are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. (We reserve the right to move booths once assigned.) No signage is provided, so exhibitors must bring their own. No retail sales allowed without prior approval.
Further details and information is contained in our Exhibitor contract and Rules for Exhibitors at http://www.HomeAndLeisureShow.com. The Order Form is available on the Home Page, on the left-hand side, under exhibitor links. A list of booths is also provided, and you can match up the booth number on the list with the map. Demographics about the Emerald Square Mall are also on the site.
